The Engine Mechanic/Fitter is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repair of all vessel systems onboard the ship, and as directed by the Staff Chief Engineer or Chief Engineer.
Main Function:
– Operates and maintains all workshop equipment such as lathe, drilling machines, grinding machine, etc.
– Machines parts as per sample or as per drawing.
– Carries out most basic pipe work in or outside the engine room.
– Assists engineers with repairs and overhauls whenever necessary and as directed by the Staff Chief Engineer or Chief Engineer.
– Assists in general technical repairs around the ship.
– Ensure the Machinist’s workshop is kept clean.
– To be familiar with and execute the company SMS.
– Other duties as assigned by the Staff Chief Engineer.
Your Profile:
– Relevant experience in the rank onboard passenger or cruise vessel
– Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (STCW A-VI/2)
– Ship Security Awareness (STCW A-VI/6)
– Basic Safety Training (STCW A-VI/1-4)
– Safety training for personnel providing direct service to passengers in passenger spaces (STCW A-V/2)
– Crowd Management (STCW A-V/2-1)
– Crisis management and human behaviour training (STCW A-V/2-2)
– Good command of both spoken and written English

We are looking for an experienced Bosun for a 60-meter private sailing yacht, set to spend the upcoming season in the Mediterranean before cruising to the Pacific Ocean. We are looking for someone with a sense of adventure who is eager to explore unique, off-the-beaten-path destinations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong sailing skills and be able to step into action and handle any sailing situation with confidence. We require someone who is not only proficient in the technical aspects of sailing but also has strong watersports skills, as they will be actively involved in a range of watersport activities onboard.
The successful candidate will have proven longevity and experience on large sailing yachts. A Yacht Master Offshore licence is required, and applicants working towards their OOW certification, with some modules already completed, will be highly preferred.
The boat runs with a crew of 10 and a deck department of 3.
