Job Opportunity: Electronics Officer – Temporary Contract (with potential to become permeant)

I am currently seeking an experienced Electronics Officer to join a cruise vessel in early December on a temporary contract, with the possibility of extension to an open-ended agreement depending on performance.

📅 Contract Dates: 02 December – 02 February

💰 Salary: USD 4,876 per month + holiday pay (every day worked a day holiday pay will be accrued)

⚓ Contract Type: Temporary (potential to become permanent)

Key Responsibilities
Maintain and upkeep navigation equipment (ECDIS, GPS, AIS, VDR, BNWAS).
Maintain and upkeep communication equipment (GMDSS, INMARSAT, IRIDIUM, SSAS, VSAT, telephones, master clock, internal comms).
Maintain and upkeep safety systems (Fire Detection, Public Address, FSD indication).
Maintain CCTV and TV systems onboard.
Carry out regular checks of electronic systems, batteries, and UPS for navigation, communication, and safety systems.
Support the Chief Electro-Technical Officer with maintenance planning, reporting, inventory control, and technical support to IT.
Ensure updates to technical drawings and proper reporting through the planned maintenance system.
Work collaboratively with other technical and non-technical staff and maintain professional behavior when in guest areas.

Requirements
Valid GMDSS Certificate
Survival Craft and Rescue Boats endorsement
Basic Safety Training
STCW Seafarer Medical
Yellow Fever vaccination certificate

Strong knowledge of marine electronics, navigation, and communication systems

2nd ENGINEER NEEDED FOR AN 80m+ NEW BUILD MOTOR YACHT 
Start Date: 5th January 2025
Schedule: Shipyard in Italy

An excellent opportunity is available for a 2nd Engineer to join the build team of a new 80m+ motor yacht, scheduled for launch in late 2026.

The 2nd Engineer will report directly to the Chief Engineer and will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and efficient operation of all vessel machinery, ensuring the highest safety standards in engine room operations. The role involves managing and monitoring all machinery and systems as directed by the Chief Engineer and demonstrating strong technical expertise across all onboard systems, including main engines, generators, fuel systems, water makers, HVAC, electrical and electronic systems, refrigeration, hydraulics, sanitation, and computer-based monitoring systems.

Candidates should possess a solid background in both commercial and large yacht engineering operations and be capable of overseeing and supervising engine repairs, servicing, and overhauls.

Applicants should have a minimum of 2–3 years’ experience sailing as a Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer on yachts or vessels 85 meters or larger.
