About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant technical management of our fleet of bulk carriers. This role is critical in ensuring vessel performance, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective operations while supporting our seafarers and collaborating with shore-based teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day technical operations of assigned bulk carriers.
- Plan and monitor dry-dockings, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, class requirements, and company standards.
- Manage budgets for vessel maintenance and technical operations.
- Liaise with shipboard staff, classification societies, flag states, and external contractors.
- Conduct vessel inspections and audits to maintain safety and performance standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to shipboard engineers and crew.
Qualifications
- Degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent professional background.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Technical Superintendent or Chief Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of bulk carrier operations, machinery, and safety systems.
- Familiarity with ISM Code, ISPS, MARPOL, and other international maritime regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel internationally for vessel visits and inspections.
- Good command of English
